On June 19, 2008 in frames of TACIS Project on “Support to Ukrainian Insurance Sector” there was 4th seminar out of the program of continuous professional development of actuaries (ÑPD) organized; the topic was: «Risk measurement in finance and insurance».

 

The seminar was run by professor and doctor of physic and mathematical sciences of Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, Ms. Yuliya Mishura.

 

The number of the participants has made 37 people; it was proposed to the participants to fill in the assessment sheets, elaborated by Project Team, to improve an organizational process in future and assess the seminar by the main components: program, handouts, lecturing level and organization. The seminar was evaluated at a high level; the score has made 4.9 (scale: 1-5, 1-poor, 5 - excellent).

 

The next CPD seminar is planned for September 2008.

On 17 – 18 June 2008 in frames of TACIS Project on “Support to Ukrainian Insurance Sector” there was a seminar held on “Strengths and weaknesses of insurance distribution channels”. The seminar was run by a foreign specialist, senior training expert of TACIS Project Jean – Pierre Daniel. The seminar was aimed at transfer of knowledge coming from the most advanced Western markets and its effective implementation on the Ukrainian insurance market.

 

The average amount of the participants has made 26 people. At the end of the seminar the participants wrote a test for the trainer to assess the level of knowledge obtained. The average mark has made 8.8 (out of 10 possible).

 

It was also proposed to the participants to fill in the assessment sheets, elaborated by Project Team, to improve an organizational process in future. The seminar was evaluated at a high level; the score has made 4.9 (scale: 1-5, 1-poor, 5- excellent).

 

The attendants, who succeeded to write the test, received the certificates in proof of active participation in the event.
